Precious moments with little children today

7:27 AM

Today I'm just reflecting on my heart-love moments in the morning with my gkidz kids. Heart-love isn't a word, but it's just what I thought of at the moment when I wanted to express the exploding heart moments today. Ah... Please excuse my english..

I'm quite tired now, I was supposed to pack my closet, but I procrastinated until 9.30pm, which is now lol! Very thankful for how the kids were engaged during worship this morning, during story time and they were attentive during craft!

I could audibly hear the kids during "We bring a Sacrifice of Praise" this morning and ahh... so adorable. ♡ Heartfelt moment today was when Daniel was leading "God will make a way" (one of my favourite songs!!) and Auntie Pris was helping, this little girl (I forgot her name) closed her eyes, had her hand on her heart and she was swaying to the music! She seemed so immersed in the song ♡ Just like what Auntie Pris said, the Holy Spirit in the little ones is the same as the Holy Spirit in us adults. God can touch their hearts in the same and we just need to lead them into God's Presence! ♡

Today I was playing the role of Jochebed (Moses' mummy), and we have to put this huge laminated paper with a hole for our faces, which we have to put our faces in. LOL. I have no idea how I look.... I asked two kids today, "Do I look funny?", and Noah nodded. HAHA our 4th time telling the story of Baby Moses and Christine was like, "Again??" HAHAHA. Yes again.

Joen the little boy with a round face and round eyes was SO adorable todayyyy ♡ He wanted to hold my hand and sit beside me! One of the nights after G12 Conference, he saw me when I was walking and he said, "Hi! My leeeader!" My heart smiles :-) He is so smart!! Joshua Yeo, the adorable 2 year old with a slight attitude was so cute today! We played humpty dumpty today!! The little girl worshiping above and Joshua was sitting on lap for humpty dumpty and afterwards they massaged my legs!! Yong Qi too awww. Making my heart float with happiness these kids... :-)))

Writing about these kids just makes me really happy :-D. Even though I struggle to wake up early, God really blesses me in these moments. I feel so thankful and I want to do more so the kids can learn better and be more engaged in worship.. Hopefullyyy~~

3 things I can do better:
1) More familiar with the order of my script so I can tell the story in a more engaging manner
2) Instead of moving the basket forward, move the basket in one circle so kids will not rush to the basket
3) Think of a way to manage baby Gabriel who refused to walk today when I was trying to hold him up!!!!! He wanted to lie on the floor instead and he did not want to put any strength into his feet.

Wrap up song is the best as we can give the kids a good bye hug. Precious, precious. I don't think this is going to be my last year in children's ministry, certainly hoping to have an opportunity in Aussie too. Will certainly miss this batch of kids as they grow up ♡

Things I've learnt today:
1) Auntie Lavina coaxing Ryan into moving into back of the queue with "Can you help me by moving to the back?" Honestly, I find it hard at times to say no to Ryan, cause he's the sticky type and at times my heart melts a little. Actually, it's not good lah, supposed to be fair to alllll.
2) Daniel teaching me how to lead the children into walking to the right with "Open, close, open, close"

Throwback to some of the little babies that I still remember, from the year I started out. Putting this down before I forget them..
1) Baby Nathan!!! I haven't seen him in ages, he is soosoososo adorable! He reminds me of my brother Matthew! He is a bit playful/disobedient at times, but I can really see he is a very creative boy! He is good at lego and he can come up with many different ways to place his scarf, other than swinging it with his hands. He smells very nice! (I'm not a weird pedo! He has a slightly stronger scent than other kids?) And he has very fair skin and is super cool~ I havent seen him in really long!

2) Baby Marissa, who I met early this year!!! She is so grown up now! I recall when I met her when she was 2 years old, she couldn't really speak and she likes to hug me!! She remembered me when I met her again, and she was so cute~ Thank you God! Last time, at first I was a little reluctant to take care of her cause I think I was showing favouritism, like I prefer to take care of kids who are easier to take care of. One day, God placed in my heart during ministry time to love the kids because He loves them, and to treat them as my own babies. From then, I felt like I had a special affection for Marissa!
And she liked to be with me ♡ I try my best to treat all children equally!! I love all kids!

3) Emmanuel. One of the first Chinese speaking boys I looked after, and I couldn't understand what he was saying because I tried to interpret it in English, but he was speaking Chinese -_- LOL! HAHAHA. He is very warm and obedient, he listens to everything I say very well and 我很疼他!His little brother is coming to Gkidz already~ I remember one time his father/mother told me he has to eat his biscuits if he is hungry cause he didn't eat a lot in the morning. During break, I was feeding him the biscuits and I felt so happy with myself because I was being responsible and his parents trusted me enough to give me this task!!!! hehehe.

4) Asher and Elijah! Adorable brothers!!!! Asher used to crying like a fire alarm siren, like WEHHHHHHHHHHH!!! And he cries once he enters the place and his tears will dripping from his cute face and long eyelashes. He is so cute and small though, I'll sometimes carry him around to calm him down. After a while, Asher cried less and settled into gkidz. Yay! I only became friends with Elijah after one time he said he was thirsty and I got him water from outside. Before that, he was not very responsive! After that, we became friends.

5) Adorable baby Isaac!!! He is so handsome!! He has really fair skin, like a milky baby! So my type ~ I remember he was afraid of the thunder and darkness during the Jonah series and I had to bring him outside to calm him down, because he wouldn't stop crying. He sat on my lap and I sang "Jesus Loves me", and he adorably sang with me too ♡ He told me about his older sister too aww. I was glad I had that interaction with him.

If you are wondering if you should join the children's ministry, and you love kids sooo much, take a leap of faith, you'll gain so much love and precious moments from it that honestly, money cannot buy! If we love the children with a mother's heart, like God, the children are such a blessing! I learn and get touched by God when I hear the God's word in children's ministry too, as no matter how simple the word is, as long as it is God's word, it is powerful and can touch and transform lives! I believe! There were moments in JC when I felt very pressured, and Gkidz was a source of comfort and enjoyment for me. There are times of dry seasons, when you feel tired from serving, but remember the reason you started!! JOIN JOIN JOIN ♡ Out a pure motive to bless and serve God's children.

P.s. Im seriously considering moving over to wordpress, because blogger's standard has really deteriorated recently!! I love that we can edit html and customise blogskin on blogger, but wordpress is really more practical and user-friendly... Will try to get used to wordpress and then decide! :-D
